I grew up in Germany, where life was all about working hard, earning money, and planning for the future. But when I looked around, I saw something was wrong. Some people had everything they were told they needed—good jobs, houses, retirement plans... but somehow they didn't appear happy to me. They were stressed, frustrated, and always chasing something more.
And then there were the others—the ones who didn’t have security, who worked just to survive. For them, it seemed the stress never ended. And for those retirement wasn’t a reward waiting at the end of a hard life... it was just another struggle.
I asked myself: Is this really what life is about? Working endlessly, always in survival mode, only to end up exhausted, lonely, and wondering what it was all for?
I couldn’t accept that. Deep inside, I knew there had to be another way to live.
